OVERVIEW OF LUSAKA SCHOOL OF CAREERS

Lusaka School of Careers is an initiative born out of a desire to provide tertiary education to the people of Zambia especially the youth, in order to meet the needs of industry and the health sector. The School was formed in 2003 as a subsidiary of the Lusaka Institute for Business Studies and has continued taking shape to in the delivery tertiary education in Zambia and across the SADC region.

 

Zambia has in recent years seen a dramatic growth in its industrial and economic development as well as tremendous development in the infrastructure and delivery of health services. To sustain these developments there is a huge demand for skilled workforce. At the moment there is a deficit of such skilled workers in all spheres of industry such as technology, commerce, business management, agriculture and environmental and natural resource management and conservation. The shortage of suitably qualified health workers in Zambia has long been recognized as outline in the Human Resource for Health (HRH) Strategic Plan for 2006 – 2010.

Each year our schools are producing young people who are joining the competition for limited places in training institutions. Lusaka School of Careers is positioning itself to contribute to the reduction of this deficit in various sectors of the economy by supplementing the efforts of government and other private tertiary education institutions in training and producing suitably qualified skilled workers.

The Board of Directors of Lusaka School of Careers is made up of experts in the medical field, commerce and business management, information technology as well seasoned educationists at tertiary level. It constitution reflects the desire to provide dynamic leadership in the quest to produce graduates who meet both national and international standards.

Lusaka School of Careers is dedicated to providing high quality, affordable and accessible tertiary and higher Education to the Zambian public to enable them achieve their full potential. It is intended to be a self-supporting institution and will run programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in affiliation with Gideon Robert University.

Lusaka School of Careers objectives are:

Mode of Study 

All Courses are on full time, part-time and by distance learning or correspondence except in the school of health Sciences where programmes are offered on full time only. Intakes are in January/February, June/ July, full-Time and Part-Time. January to April for May residential Classes, June to September for December residential classes annually (Distance Learning)

 

Method of Payment

 

Students are encouraged to pay fees through the bank account number indicated below. Where banks are not easily accessible, students will be allowed to send fees in cash or pay at on arrival the College.

Payment of all fees can be made by depositing though your local Cavmont Bank branch into Lusaka School of Careers Account Number 200000456504, Cavmont Bank Lusaka Square Branch, Cairo Road, Lusaka. You may also send money by means of Swift Cash through your local post office.

Letters containing Cheques or money orders, or cash should be sent by registered or express mail through your local post office. You can also pay on arrival at the college as long as your coming is confirmed one (1) week in advance. You can refer to the schedule fee for information regarding tuition and other required fees.
