INSTITUTE BACKGROUND
The beginning of Chipata Trades Training Institute dates back to 1970s when the Government came up with an idea of setting a training institute in Chipata. As such, the Government provided land and began construction along Malawi Road. After building only five staff houses, the construction work was suspended for several years. It was only later in 1993 that the decision to set up the institute was revisited.
