WALGATE is a Zambian wholly owned company registered in Zambia as a private company limited by shares. Registered on 10th October 2007 our core business is provision of IT related consultancy services.  Walgate competence lies in Systems analysis, Software applications development, Systems Integration. E-learning Solutions

An important IT service particularly to Institutions of learning is e-learning. We have noted that many learning institutions in Zambia still use the traditional ‘postal system’ to deliver learning content to their distant students; this is inspite of the many advances made in the field of ICT. At Walgate we believe that e-learning if adopted could benefit universities and colleges in so many ways including;

(a)As a means to capture that extra market niche and increase revenue base from local and foreign based (Zambian & non-Zambian) students.

Other Assignments 

1.Redesigned & developed the Agricultural Information system for the Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock, HQ. The system helps monitor food commodity prices for the whole country; in real-time. The main system users include the ministry officials and specific stakeholders such as small scale farmers, traders and researchers. Being a web based application this system could be accessed anywhere, anytime by any legitimate user. Maintenance contract still running.

 

2.Redesigned the Yellow Card Management Information System (YC-MIS) for COMESA. The Yellow Card (YC) is an Insurance scheme for COMESA member state citizens as they cross their boarder. YC is also used as motor vehicle insurance cover. The system has been redesigned to intelligently handle the stock (YC) levels and is also a web based application. It is hosted at COMESA secretariat and accessed anytime, anywhere by specific YCMIS users. Walgate provides system support including training to all participating entities in all COMESA member states. Maintenance contract still running

 

3.Partnered and engaging specific local higher institutions of learning on the adoption of e-learning as a cost effective and efficient means of reaching as many students as possible in the distance learning programs. Our proposed systems are tested and in use.
