About Lusaka Health Institute
Lusaka Health Institute (LHI) is a not for profit, private training institute for registered nurses in Zambia. The institute commenced opened its doors in January 2007 and offers a three (3) year diploma in Registered Nursing. It has two (2) intakes per year in January and July.
LHI is accredited to the General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNC). The institute provides a GNC prescribed curriculum, at the end of which students sit for GNC qualifying examinations.
Lusaka Health Institute offers conducive classroom based skills laboratory at the institution and practical sessions at the University Teaching Hospital, Chainama College of Health Sciences and at various clinics in Lusaka. Students are also given a rural experience in the rural clinics such as Nangoma Mission Hospital.
The institute provides an affordable low cost training and is one of the cheapest amongst private nursing school with highly qualified teaching staff.
Vision
To be a non-profit private training institute for nurses in Zambia that will offer career guidance and opportunities to students who will help tackle the puzzling clinical situations and encourage inquisitive/ detailed look at all issues, concepts and principles contained within the problem.
Mission Statement
Lusaka Health Institute is committed to “Bridge the Gap” by complimenting the Government efforts I filling the gap for shortage of well trained nursing staff.
Goal
The school aims to help solve the human Resource crisis in Zambia in order to improve the health care delivery system. In order to meet this goal, the Institute intends to grow in 3 - 4 years time to enroll two hundred and fifty (250) students.

Entry Qualifications.
Grade 12 schooling must be completed with a minimum of five (5) credits, of which Biology, English and Mathematics are obligatory.
